Common Names:  Weeping Willow, Babylon Willow
Description: Salix babylonica (Weeping Willow) is a member of the Willow Family (Salicaceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed.2, vol. 5, p. 356 stated this plant was first cultivated in Britain in 1692, and erroneously stated it was native to the Levant.  We now know it originated in northern China.
