Common Names: Tamarind, Tamarind-Tree
Description: Tamarindus indica (Tamarind) is a member of the Bean Family (Fabaceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 4, page 134 recorded that peas are natives of Egypt and both Indies though today we believe they are native to tropical Africa.
