Common Names: Poppy
 
Description: Papaver sp. (Poppy) is a member of the Papaveraceae (Poppy) family.  The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 3 recorded nine species cultivated in Britian and that those various poppies were native to Britain, England, the Levant, Norway, Siberia, Austria, and Switzerland. This web page deals with textile illustrations of poppies that are not currently possible to identify to species due to artistic license used in their design.
