Common Names: Lesser Mallow
Description: Hibiscus hirtus (Lesser Mallow) is a member of the Mallow family (Malvaceae).  While not mentioned in the Hortus Kewensis this native to India was named by Linnaeus before his death in 1778 and thus known in Europe by that time.
