Description: Persicaria orientalis (Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate) is a member of the Polygonum family (Polygonaceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 2 recorded (listed as Polygonum orientalis) that this native of the East Indies was first cultivated in Britain in 1707.
