 Description: Jasminum officinale (Common Jasmine) is a member of the Olive Family (Oleaceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 1 reported that it was introduced to Britain in 1597 but did not list its country of origin.  Curtis's Botanical Magazine, vol. 1, p. 31 reported it was native of Malabar and several parts of India.
