Description: Dianthus caryophyllus (Carnation) is a member of the Caryophyllaceae (Pink Family). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 3 recorded this flower is native to  Britain.  This listing includes Danthus caryophyllus and its many subsequent garden hybrids.
